Two years ago, we started the Hurley House with a vision of making a space that created connection. We started by having a couple of open house weekends to foster community, offered the space at affordable rates to organizations we admired, and hosted a small retreat. Each event seemed to lead to another, and today we find ourselves having exceeded our wildest expectations. More specifically:

  • Over 300 people have stayed at the house

  • Over 150 people have volunteered in some capacity

  • We have hosted 3 week-long meditation retreats and 2 “parts work” group retreats

  • We have hosted 12 community weekends and 3 “skill builds” — renovating 9 bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, the kitchen, the library, and numerous outdoor spaces

  • We built partnerships with 3 New York based non-profits that support underserved communities: All Kings, All Queens, and Remix Culture — offering them the space for their weekend retreats for minimal charge. (Photo of Remix Culture by participant Conrad Clifton.)

  • We established ourselves as a non-profit organization and began to build the volunteer and organizational infrastructure to sustain us for years to come

And all of our programming has been donation-based!

As we begin to prepare for 2026, we hope to continue these efforts, building the organization, renovating the house, and putting it to service to connect and support a huge variety of folks. (You can read about our mission here.)

To support our efforts, we are raising funds this winter for our next season. All donations will go to keeping the Hurley House accessible and supporting the projects that we are hoping to undertake next year.
